My Story
About Beaulongings
“I have collected ‘stuff’ for as long as I can remember. During my childhood I would hold onto the paper-based mementos and ephemera from day trips in the school holidays and stick them into lined ring bound notebooks. I ended up with stacks of them!”
Kimberley Bevan, Founder
Hello, I’m so humbled that you’re here having a look around!
My hopes and dreams for Beaulongings is for it to be the home of inspiration to bring about creativity and acts of kindness to enrich family life. It stands to celebrate the ‘stuff’ of our lives; with a thoughtfully designed collection of objects for the home, paper goods and DIY ideas to help you tell your own stories, spread kindness and surround yourself with things that hold meaning for you.
I’ve always loved paper, sending post, and stationery in general I guess! My need to save paper mementos hasn’t changed as I’ve grown up. The corner of my loft room is home to boxes and boxes bursting with paper treasures collected by adult-me; ticket stubs or leaflets from day trip adventures, beautiful packaging that I can’t bear to throw away and special homemade cards and handwritten letters that have dropped through our letterbox. They will spark lots of fun memories of our family life in the future, and I can’t wait to while away lots of rainy days leafing through them.
Beaulongings are more than just belongings. They are things that belong with you not just to you. Their story might be lost on someone else, but to you they are steeped with meaning and memories. ‘Beau’, as well as translating as ‘beautiful’ in English is the first part of my family name ‘Beaumont’, my surname until I got married. It may no longer be my name on paper, but it’s still a huge part of my life’s story, and lives on in this next chapter through Beaulongings.
